Privacy Act Statement
The Executive Office for Immigration Review (EOIR) is authorized by 8 C.F.R. §§ 1001.1(cc), 1003.2(g)(4), 1003.3(g)(1), 1003.31(a), and 1292.1 to collect information in eRegistry. This is a mandatory collection of information to request a user account. EOIR requires this information to create and authorize user accounts to access the EOIR Case and Appeals System (ECAS) so parties may participate in electronic filing and electronically access case information. You will not receive a user account for ECAS if you fail to provide the requested information, which may prevent you from accessing electronic case information and participating in electronic filing for EOIR immigration proceedings. EOIR also requires this collection of information in eRegistry for attorneys and accredited representatives to obtain an EOIR ID number to represent individuals in EOIR immigration proceedings. If attorneys and accredited representatives do not provide the requested information, the practitioner will not receive an EOIR ID number, which will affect the practitioner’s ability to represent individuals in EOIR immigration proceedings. Failure to participate in electronic filing when required to do so may result in the rejection of documents by the immigration court or Board of Immigration Appeals and could result in an adverse decision in EOIR immigration proceedings.
